The 2011 Kia Sportage at Portland ME Kia DealershipThe 2011 Kia Sportage is one great-looking crossover, and with a starting price of $18,295 , it’s an affordable option for Maine Kia consumers in the market for a crossover vehicle as well. Kia announced recently that its longest running nameplate will start well below the $20,000 mark while sporting standard features like a six-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, MP3 inputs and Bluetooth connectivity.
At $20,295 ($20,990 with destination) the mid-level LX model adds outside mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, keyless entry and privacy glass. Another $3,000 ($23,990 with destination) adds 18-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Standard safety features include six airbags, four-wheel ABS and electronic stability control.
The Sportage, which will be available from our Portland Kia dealership later this year, is a terrific value for Maine Kia shoppers. Sportage’s 176-horsepower 2.4-liter will deliver an impressive 22 miles-per-gallon in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway. A far more powerful 270+ horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter Sportage variant will be available later in the model year at the premier Maine Kia dealership, Bill Dodge Kia.
When the Sportage goes on sale this fall at the #1 ME Kia dealer, there will be two trim levels: base LX and upscale EX. Options will include navigation, rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, leather seats and Kia’s new UVO voice control system. Safety enhancements will include hill start assist and hill descent control, as well as stability and traction control.
The 2011 Sportage from Bill Dodge Kia will come equipped with torso-protecting front-seat side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags for both seating rows. The curtain bags are designed to deploy in side collisions and when onboard sensors detect an impending rollover. Air conditioning, power windows and locks, and remote keyless entry are likely standards. Expect options such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, power driver seat, front windshield-wiper de-icer, and dual front automatic climate control.
Maine Kia Sportage consumers will appreciate saving money at the pump. The 2011 Sportage LX with manual transmission and front-wheel drive will be rated around 23/31 mpg (city/highway). With automatic transmission, expect both the 2011 Sportage LX and EX to be rated 22/30 with front-wheel drive, 22/29 with AWD. Such ratings would place the 2011 Sportage among the most fuel-efficient compact crossovers on the road today.
Included in any Sportage from the top Kia dealer serving Portland is Kia’s generous warranty. Coverage is 5-years/60,000-miles bumper-to-bumper and 10-years/100,000-miles powertrain.

Bill Dodge Kia serving Portland Kia shoppers invites area residents to experience the Kia models that have recently earned Top Safety Pick recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2010 Kia Forte, 2010 Kia Soul and 2011 Kia Sorento were all recognized with top safety pick honors.
The list of awards for the Kia Soul keeps getting longer. The editors at Kelley Blue Book chose the fun, versatile Soul as one of their 10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000, it was named one of the best family cars for 2010 by Parents magazine and Edmunds.com, and best hatchback of 2010 by Cars.com. Now, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is also recognizing the 2010 Kia Soul as a Top Safety Pick. Soul’s small footprint allows it to finagle into even the smallest of parking places, but consumers need not be confused; the Soul can seat 5 adults comfortably and achieves big numbers when it comes to fuel economy.
The 2010 Kia Forte is a four-door compact car. The Forte received ratings of “Good” (the highest achievable) in front, side, rear and rollover impact crash tests – something that safety-minded buyers will surely appreciate. In addition to competitive pricing, Forte also showcases a class-leading combination of standard safety features with active front headrests, advanced two-stage airbags, front seat-mounted and side curtain airbags, four-wheel disc brakes with an antilock brake system (ABS), brake assist (BAS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), a traction control system (TCS) and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The 2011 Kia Sorento wins the IIHS Top Safety Pick in the Midsize SUV category. The 2011 Sorento is fitted with numerous standard safety equipment, including driver and passenger advanced front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags and front active headrests, four-wheel Antilock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), as well as with Hill Start Assist Control.
“In addition to offering consumers outstanding quality, appealing new design, comfort and value, the Kia brand is first and foremost committed to providing the highest levels of passenger safety,” said Michael Sprague, vice president, marketing of Kia Motors America (KMA). “The 2011 Sorento is an example of Kia’s ongoing and rapid vehicle expansion, demonstrating that buyers can have an affordable, well-equipped and attractive CUV without sacrificing impressive levels of crash protection.”
The CUV, which went on-sale in early-January, was the first vehicle to roll off the line at Kia’s new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia.
With automotive safety a key feature for all consumers, Bill Dodge Kia is pleased to announce these top awards to Portland Kia shoppers and reaffirm Kia’s dedication on the safety front.

Portland Kia consumers have enthusiastically responded to the clever new Kia Soul ad campaign featuring dancing hamsters. Maine’s leading Kia dealer, Bill Dodge Kia, has reported an increase in Kia vehicle sales overall and in the 2010 Kia Soul specifically.
Kia Motors America recently launched its popular “This or That” commercial, which features urban hamsters in hooded sweatshirts rapping about the 2010 Kia Soul, which is available at Maine’s top Kia dealership, Bill Dodge Kia. The catchy ad has also gone viral on YouTube since it launched in late May. There’s just something about blinged-out rodents dancing down “Hamsterdam Avenue” that makes Portland Kia shoppers smile. Portland Kia dealers also love the hamster campaign. Selling Maine consumers a great car backed by America’s best warranty is even more rewarding with a little humor injected into the process. Some Portland Kia Soul shoppers have even visited Bill Dodge Kia requesting to drive the hamster car.
Bill Dodge Kia is finding out that indeed, the ads resonate with its Portland, ME audience. Maine’s #1 Kia dealership has experienced a surge in sales of the already popular Kia Soul, and Kia’s growth overall is strong while many of its competitors continue to struggle in the current economy.
In June, Kia Motors America’s retail sales surged 45% over the same period last year. While Ford , General Motors, and Toyota also posted smaller year-over-year increases in June, their sales fell from May by 11%, 13% and 14%, respectively. Kia’s rose 1.5% month-to-month.
Nationwide, 80% of Kia dealers have sold out of the Kia Soul. Kia’s new marketing strategy has attracted a new generation of Kia drivers in Portland. The Kia Soul is well on its way to becoming an iconic vehicle, especially with young drivers. 2010 Kia Soul, perhaps partly due to the brilliant dancing hip hop hamster ad campaign, has started a Kia revolution in Maine. Contact Bill Dodge Kia today at (877) 583-6175 for more information on the Kia Soul.
